Hello, my name is Heather de Lugt. Thank you so much for considering me to tutor your son or daughter in French, and if you are a university student, thank you for considering me to help you with your French class. I love teaching French and seeing my students succeed. Most of all, I love seeing the love of French that gets instilled in them. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy cooking, taking ballet class, reading, playing with my white boxer dog, and watching Spanish-language movies (they're my favorite... but don't tell my students that!). My journey with French began way back when I was 9 years old. I was taking ballet class and was enthralled with how all the terms were in French. When I had the option of a foreign language in high school, I chose French. I had a teacher who was extremely passionate about the subject and instilled a love for French in her students. I studied French throughout high school... And I still keep in touch with my high school French teacher! After I graduated high school, I decided to study French and communication, with my end goal focused on living in France for a few years. I graduated in 2009, and went to live in France for two years teaching English in high school and elementary school with the French Ministry of Education. It was an amazing experience in so many ways. After returning back home from France in 2011, I decided to pursue my graduate studies. I graduated in 2014 with a Master of Arts in French. I currently teach French at BASIS,which I love. In addition to my teaching experience, I have tutored all ages and levels, from young children to adults. I look forward to sharing my love of French with you and helping you succeed!
