Experience
I have over 12 years of experience teaching children in all subjects and specializing in math for higher grades. I have a degree in K-12 SpEd and am certified as a K-6 teacher as well as K-12 SpEd teacher. My previous experience includes being a home school teacher, private math teacher, and public/private school teacher. I believe strongly that every child has a lot of potential inside and some just need a little help showing how to unpack it. I observe each student to find how they learn and adapt my teaching to fit it. I enjoy finding a way for a child to learn something they and/or others thought they couldn't. I don't just enable the student with answers. Instead, I focus on teaching them how to think, building competence and self-confidence at the same time. I specialize in catching up students that are behind. I am specifically geared towards children with special needs. It comes naturally. I have worked with children who are on the autism spectrum, ADD/ADHD, oral processing disorder, severe dyslexia, Emotional/Behavioral disorders, LD, and the gifted. I am most noted for being a calming presence. I am extremely patient, loving, honest, dependable, and trustworthy.
