I am the Assistant Director at a charter school in Phoenix, AZ. I teach history to eighth graders at the school as well. Formerly, I was teaching third and sixth grade students in all subjects, including mathematics, sciences, history, writing, and English. My license to teach elementary educational curricula is coupled with a master's degree in the same field. I earned my master's from ASU in Arizona. I also received a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State, where I double majored in Women's Studies and Humanities Pre Law. I have been involved in tutoring kids for five years now. During my time in Michigan, I was tutoring kids in fifth grade at an urban primary school, in addition to one kid in preschool and one in kindergarten. The kindergartner was a student at a Montessori. My beginning year of teaching in Phoenix led me to tutoring a first grader and other students in different grades throughout the facility. I have a strong passion to teach all subjects, but I mostly enjoy language, history, and mathematics subject matter. These studies are important for elementary students, so I try to get these kids motivated to learn every day. I think it is vital to individually educate students rather than simply rely on just classroom instruction. I can help relate their studies to their individual interests, and help build confidence in the child. Each child has great potential to succeed in what they put their mind to. I have many interests, including family, friends, reading, physical activities, outdoors, traveling, cooking, arts, and entertainment.
