My name is Puneet, and I live in Chandler, Arizona. I am a graduate of Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. I began my tutoring career in high school where I learned that I loved helping my fellow students reach their academic goals. After volunteering as a National Honors Society tutor throughout high school, I went on to tutor during my time at Duke. I have a wide range of interests including music, sports, and academics. I am available to tutor in many subject areas, including algebra 1, calculus 1, chemistry, physics, pre-calculus, writing, English, and SAT, ACT, MCAT, and other test preparation.I enjoy tutoring in small groups and using a conversational style where we discuss topics and students share their knowledge and understanding. This allows us to solidify foundational knowledge as well as giving me an opportunity to correct any problems with their thinking. I find this type of learning helps students perform better overall and gives them tools to use throughout their lives. Giving students an opportunity to put their ideas into words is significantly more effective than reciting facts to them while they listen. I tailor my tutoring sessions to the level, learning style, strengths, and weaknesses of each individual student, so as best to serve their academic goals.
