Experience

I went to the University of Kentucky to earn my bachelor's degree in special education. I've been teaching for the past 18 years, and during that time I've taught at elementary schools doing general education and special education. As a tutor, I'm comfortable helping students with all subjects, but my favorites are math and reading. I use a student centered approach and modify my teaching methodology to match the learning styles of each unique student. Every student has their own talents and interests, and I like to use those to help students find subjects relatable and interesting. I'm looking forward to tutoring students in elementary school math, phonics, reading, ESL, grammar, study skills and organization, special education, and test prep. In my free time, I like to watch movies, go to garage and estate sales, and read.
