Experience
I'm a honors student at the University of Arizona who is pursuing degrees in molecular and cellular biology as well as biochemistry. I started tutoring as a high school student, and I continued tutoring through college. I specialize in chemistry subjects and math. Math is fun to tutor because there is only one right answer but there many ways to get there. I like to work with students to figure out the methods that work best for them based on their primary learning style. I like to get to know my students and figure out how they learn best and what they know. This tells me how I can modify my approach to match their needs and address the things they need to learn. When I work with students, I ask a lot of leading questions to encourage critical thinking and help students connect ideas in their minds so that they can find answers on their own. This independent learning skill helps students be successful in the subjects we study as well as in future learning. In my free time, I enjoy a number of different activities. These include learning to code, playing the guitar, playing trivia, baking, drawing, sculpting, watching anime and television shows, working out, watching videos on YouTube, and playing League of Legends.
