I'm a tutor who is experienced and trained in teaching. I'm very passionate about tutoring in math. I'm able to help students with algebra, calculus, geometry, statistics, trigonometry, arithmetic, and with other types of math. I have a degree in Mathematics and I am certified to teach secondary education through Pennsylvania State University. I went on to receive my master's degree in Education with a focus in secondary curriculum at Northern Arizona University. I also received my certification to instruct dual enrollment classes from Chandler Gilbert Community College. As a tutor I make sure to foster a positive environment for those that I teach. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions and expressing to me that they don't understand something. I use a multitude of strategies when it comes to teaching because I know that every student learns differently. It's important to show the practical uses of mathematics to students so that they know why it is that they have to learn it. When I'm not teaching or tutoring I enjoy playing sports, traveling, being active outdoors, and spending time with my two sons. I'm also an avid hiker, cyclist, and yoga practitioner.
